How to use Watermark PDF

1. Open the PDFAll pages will receive the watermark.
2. Design itText, typeface, size, angle, opacity, color and layout.

Centered or tiled

A single centered watermark is the classic “DRAFT” look. Tiling repeats the text in a staggered grid across the whole page, which is harder to crop out of a screenshot — useful for proofs and photo contact sheets. Opacity around 0.15–0.25 keeps the content readable.

Personalised copies

Watermarking each copy with the recipient’s name (“Prepared for Northwind LLC”) is a simple deterrent against forwarding. Run the tool once per recipient — it takes a second each time.

How permanent is it?

The watermark is part of the page content, not a removable comment. A determined person with an editor could still delete it; combine with Flatten PDF (image method) or Protect PDF for stronger protection.

Choosing opacity and colour

A watermark should be visible without stopping anyone from reading. 15–25 % opacity in a mid-tone colour works on most documents; go higher for photos and lower for dense text. “DRAFT” in the centre at 45° is the classic review marker, while a small tiled name or email address deters people from forwarding a copy, because it shows up on every part of every page.
