Break a long PDF into chapters, invoices or single pages. Type ranges like 1-4, 5-9, 10-end — each range becomes its own PDF.

How to use Split PDF
- Open the PDFPick the file to cut up. The page count appears next to its name.
- Choose how to splitCustom ranges, a fixed number of pages per file, one file per page, or two halves.
- Download the partsSave parts individually or press “Download all (.zip)”.
Writing page ranges
Ranges are separated by commas. 1-3 is pages one to three, 7 is a single page, 12- or 12-end runs to the last page. Ranges may overlap — 1-5, 3-8 gives two files that share pages three to five — and a reversed range such as 9-6 outputs those pages backwards.
Every N pages
Handy for batch-scanned paperwork: if a scanner produced one 60-page file from thirty two-page forms, choose “Every N pages” with N = 2 and you get thirty separate forms, numbered in the file names by page span (-p1-2.pdf, -p3-4.pdf …).
What is kept
Each part contains exact copies of its pages: same fonts, same image quality, same page size and rotation. Document-level extras such as bookmarks are not copied into the parts.
Splitting in half for two reviewers
The “into two halves” mode is handy when a long report has to be divided between two people: a 37-page file becomes pages 1–19 and 20–37, rounded so the first part gets the extra page. For any other division, the range box accepts “end” as the last page, so 1-10, 11-end keeps working even if you don’t know the exact page count.
Questions about Split PDF
How do I split out just one page?
Use ranges with that single number (e.g. 4), or try Extract pages to pick pages visually from thumbnails.
Will the split files be smaller?
Usually yes, roughly in proportion to their page count, although shared fonts are embedded in every part.
Can I split a scanned PDF?
Yes. Scans are just pages with images; splitting works the same way.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and cut inside this browser tab.
Do bookmarks survive a split?
Each part is rebuilt from the pages you selected, so page content, links inside the page and annotations come along, but the document outline (bookmarks panel) is not copied into the parts because most entries would point at pages that are no longer there.
