How to use Reorder pages
- Open the PDFThumbnails show both the new position and the original page number.
- Drag pages into placeDrop a page in front of another. Keyboard: focus a page and press ← or →.
- Save the new orderDownload the re-sequenced PDF.
Reversing a whole document
Some scanners output stacks last-page-first. “Reverse order” flips the entire sequence in one click; “Reset” brings back the original order if you get lost.
Interleaving a two-sided scan
If you scanned all fronts and then all backs, merge the two files, then drag each back page behind its front. For long documents it is often faster to split into single pages and merge them in the right order.
Keyboard and drag, both work
Drag a thumbnail and drop it before another page; a cyan marker shows where it will land. If dragging a long document is fiddly, focus a page with Tab and press ← or → to move it one place at a time. Nothing is written until you press “Save new order”, so you can rearrange as much as you like and the original file stays untouched.
Reordering vs. sorting files
This tool changes the order of pages inside one PDF. If you want to change the order of whole documents before joining them, use the ↑ ↓ buttons or “Sort A→Z” in Merge PDF instead.
Questions about Reorder pages
Does reordering affect quality?
No. Pages are copied as-is into the new order.
Can I duplicate a page?
Use Split with overlapping ranges (e.g. 1-3, 2) and merge the parts, or Extract the page and merge it back.
Does it work on touch screens?
Thumbnails can be selected on touch devices, but drag-and-drop works best with a mouse or trackpad; keyboard arrows are the precise alternative.
Does the new order keep bookmarks and links?
Pages are copied with their content and annotations, so links drawn on a page stay. The document outline is not rebuilt, because its entries would no longer match the new sequence.
