Lossless by design
PDF pages carry a rotation flag. Changing it turns the page without re-rendering anything, so scans don’t get blurrier and the file size stays the same.
Mixed orientation documents
Reports often contain a landscape table in the middle of portrait pages. Rotate just that page here; the rest stay untouched. If a scan is slightly skewed rather than sideways, rotation won’t help — that needs deskewing in scanner software.
Fixing a sideways scan in three clicks
Scanners often save landscape tables or receipts on their side. Click only those pages in the grid — each click turns that page 90° clockwise and the thumbnail updates straight away — then apply. Use “All right” or “All left” when the whole document is wrong, for example a phone scan held the other way round. A page clicked four times is back at 0° and is left unchanged.
What actually changes in the file
Rotation is stored as a page attribute that viewers and printers read, so the page content, fonts and images are not re-encoded and the file size barely moves. That is also why the result opens correctly in every viewer.
Need more than one step? The Workbench runs Rotate PDF together with other operations on the same file in one go — for example merge → compress → protect.
Questions about Rotate PDF
Why does my PDF look rotated in one app and not another?
Some apps ignore their own view rotation when saving. Rotating here writes the rotation into the PDF itself.
Can I rotate by 45°?
PDF page rotation only supports 90° steps.
Will form fields still work?
Yes, rotation doesn’t remove fields or links.
Does rotating a page also rotate its form fields and comments?
Yes. Fields, links and annotations belong to the page, so they turn together with it and stay where they were relative to the content.
